Installation
Installing Brickser
Brickser ships as a standard WordPress plugin. The whole flow takes about two minutes.
Requirements
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.0+ |
| PHP | 7.4+ |
| Theme | Bricks Builder (installed and active) |
| Browser | Any current Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge |
Install and activate the Bricks Builder theme before activating Brickser. Brickser detects Bricks at load time and shows an admin notice if it is missing.
Step 1 — Sign up and grab your files
Create an account at brickser.io and head to your Customer Dashboard. Under the Downloads tab you will find:
- The latest
brickser-ai.zipbuild - Your license key
Download the zip and copy the license key — you will need both in the next steps.
Step 2 — Install in WordPress
- In WP Admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose
brickser-ai.zipand click Install Now. - When the install finishes, click Activate Plugin.
Step 3 — Launch Brickser from the admin menu
Once activated, a sparkle icon appears in the WordPress admin toolbar — the top bar visible across both the admin and the front-end when you're logged in. Click it to jump straight into the Bricks editor with Brickser ready to go.
Step 4 — Activate your license and add an AI provider
Inside the Bricks editor, click the sparkle icon in the top toolbar (next to + Elements). The Brickser sidebar slides in from the right.
- Paste your license key and click Activate.
- Choose your AI provider — Anthropic, Google Gemini, or OpenAI.
- Paste the matching API key from your provider's console.
Brickser is BYOK, so all generation runs against your own provider account. You can swap providers anytime from the same panel.
Lost your license key? It is always available under the Downloads tab in your Customer Dashboard. You can deactivate a site there too if a key is stuck on a host you no longer control.
Step 5 — Import the design system
The last step sets up your styling foundation so every section, component Brickser inserts, inherits the same variables, classes, and typography.
- In the Brickser onboard wizard, click Import Design System.
- When prompted, choose Brickser AI as the design system to import.
- Open Bricks → Theme Styles and assign the Brickser AI theme style to the Entire website condition.
Step 6 — Enable required Bricks settings
A few Bricks settings need to be on for Brickser to run smoothly inside the builder. In WP Admin, open Bricks → Settings and turn on:
- General → SVG uploads (for admins)
- Builder → Structure panel → Expand active element & scroll into view
- Custom Code → Code execution
These three together give Brickser the permissions and builder behavior it needs to insert sections, navigate the structure panel, and render its UI library cleanly.
That's it. You are ready to build — head to Your First Website for the first-project walkthrough.
Updates
Brickser updates like any other WordPress plugin. When a new version is released, you will see the standard Update available notice on the Plugins screen — click Update now and WordPress handles the rest. Your license, project, and style configuration are preserved across updates.
Uninstalling
Deactivate Brickser from Plugins to disable the sidebar without losing data. Deleting the plugin will additionally clear the Brickser project, page mapping, and style configuration stored on this site. Pages Brickser created in Bricks remain — they are just regular Bricks pages now.
