Installation & license
Before you start
You need a WordPress site with the Bricks Builder theme installed and active, and an admin account on it. Brickser talks to Bricks directly, so it has to be the active theme — not just installed.
Get the plugin
Sign in at brickser.io/login. Your account holds both things you need:
- the plugin
.zip - your license key
Download the zip and copy the key somewhere handy — you'll paste it in a moment.
Install it
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the
.zipand select Install Now. - Select Activate.
Open Brickser
Once the plugin is active, a blue sparkle appears in the WordPress admin bar — the black bar across the top of the screen, after + New.
Click it. Brickser opens its page in the Bricks editor with the sidebar ready.
The setup wizard
First time in, you'll land on Welcome to Brickser AI, which walks through three steps:
- Paste your license key — the one from your account. It looks like
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. - Add your AI provider key — this is what powers generation. You can Skip for now and add it later from Settings; the next chapter covers the options.
- Install design system — say yes. It adds the colour variables, spacing scale and utility classes the section library is built on.
Your license key is tied to a number of sites. Activating claims one of those slots for this domain.
If you skip the design system, sections you insert later will render without their spacing and colour rules. You can install it afterwards from the Style panel, but it's much less trouble to do it now.
Deactivating or deleting the plugin releases the site slot again, so moving a licence between staging and production is just deactivate-then-activate.
Staying up to date
Updates arrive through the normal WordPress updates screen — Brickser checks in and offers new versions like any other plugin. No re-downloading zips by hand.
